Instructor: Sue Henry Sue Henry is the author of award winning, internationally published mysteries, a past president of Sisters in Crime, a former administrator for Alaskan Adult Basic Education, and an instructor of writing for the University of Alaska Anchorage. Her teaching credits include a variety of classes and workshops in scene and structure, character building, point of view, dialogue, plot--even autobiography. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced writer, she can help you decide what kind of book or story you'd like to write and how to get started.

Having lived in Fairbanks, Juneau, and Anchorage (where she currently resides), she has traveled widely in Alaska and western Canada, and has used many of the places she visited and people she has met as settings and characters for her books.

Murder on the Iditarod Trail was the first of her Alaskan Jessie Arnold mysteries, followed by eleven more. Three of these have ties to the Inside Passage: Termination Dust and Death Takes Passage (both based around the Klondike Gold Rush, the latter taking place on the 1998 Centennial run from Skagway to Seattle), and Murder at Five Finger Light (set on an island lighthouse in Frederick Sound between Juneau and Petersburg).

Sue also writes a second spin-off series of mysteries featuring Alaskan senior citizen, Maxie McNabb, who travels in a Winnebago motor home with her mini-dachshund, Stretch, to places used as settings for mysteries. Three of the Maxie and Stretch mysteries (The Serptents Tail, The Tooth of Time, and The Refuge) have been published and a fourth (The End of the Road) will be released in the spring of 2009.
